BEHIND THE LENS
 

My name is Tim Kruskamp. I am a quiet, friendly but moody, reclusive photo-artist/musician from Ohio, currently living in Boca Raton, Florida. My talent is simply to capture emotion within a subject, whether it be a model, child, person on the street, a landscape or even an abandoned building. It's all about the mood to me and that's what I try to convey in my images. I create these images for me, first and foremost. It's a type of therapy...an outlet for the artistic side of myself that can't manifest fully within the rat-race of everyday life. I use a lot of muted tones, selective focus techniques, shadows, natural and/or odd lighting, textures and other earthly elements to showcase the mood in a subject. These are the things that appeal to me when I view an image. Photoshop is a significant tool in my arsenal and I use it passionately. Also, I am a proud user of the Olympus E-5 and several Olympus lenses.

My work has been published in many magazines, books and online publications such as Dark Beauty Magazine, Gothic Beauty Magazine, True West Magazine, the covers of The Steampunk Fashion Book (2014) and Crystal Gate (2013 novel) and several others magazines.
